Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan Attorneys is organising a webinar session on ‘Covid 19 v Import/Export’.

Due to the Novel COVID-19, partial / complete lockdown has been imposed in various countries across the world. India has been under a complete lockdown throughout the country for over 21 days, as a preventive measure to slowdown the spreading of the virus. The pandemic has crippled the Indian economy with the import/export, manufacturing activity in the country coming to a stand-still. The Central Government, various State Governments have issued numerous instructions, guidelines, relaxations with an effort to provide the trade and industry, relaxation from the rigors of law.  Relief measures have also been announced.  The Supreme Court and various High Courts have curtailed their functions. The CESTAT and CBIC have put-in place various measures in their functions, including virtual hearings to dispose off matters.

This webinar will be focusing on highlighting the changes/relaxations brought about recently in light of the pandemic as well as various issues which the trade is facing/likely to be facing during these trying times. The session would be on the key changes and issues which would be arising on account of these extraordinary circumstances in the context of the Customs Act, The Foreign Trade Policy, Legal Metrology and certain other miscellaneous issues.
