Damodar Vaidya is advising and assisting clients in securing and enforcing IPR in respect of technology, and in planning and structuring direct tax transactions, ensuring that the solutions are sound from legal and business perspectives.

He has been handling advisory and contentious matters in IPR and direct taxation during his tenure with the firm.

He has a rich experience of over 40 years in handling technology, business, and law. He was heading IPR practice for engineering subjects. He has handled cases related to invention mining, drafting of inventions, prosecution before the Patent Office, opposition proceedings, and infringement suits, TP analysis of R&D contracts, tax implications in transactions including mergers and acquisitions, tax exemptions and exclusions, and contract reviews.

His has rich experience in technology, business, and law in respect of diverse industry sectors including manufacturing, retail, education, telecommunication, automobile, engineering, software development, energy, distribution, supply chain, engineering, and information technology.

Before joining L&S, Damodar had worked in some of the most respected multinational companies, such as Larsen & Toubro, Philips India, and Hughes Communication. He handled different roles including Head of Retail Business, CIO, and Vice-President for Strategic Projects.
